When I truly became aware of what “sin” really is and how all my choices (actions) affects the fabric of my life and the life others. It was when I started to observe how hateful in nature it truly is. I also started to observe how my wrong actions rippled through the fabric of my life in a negative way. With further observation, I can actually see that the wrong actions I was making only served me and not God. This is when I realized how egotistical and self centered I truly was. How my wrong actions only stoled from the people around me. All sin (wrong doing) is a form of theft. When I started to understand this Law, I can actually observe and see how the ripples of my actions were effecting the people around me and my community. How these ripples kept bouncing off other bad actions and coming back to affect me in the same negative way (karma). By coming to awareness of this Law, I now have a higher understanding . I am also aware of how to truly repent and give reparations to those who I stoled from. It is my choice or not, to ask for forgiveness. But If I choose to ask for forgiveness, I also need to repay my debt to the person I have offended (stole from). It is at that point and ONLY at the point of reparation is when the pond settles back to the state it was before I threw my rock (or created my acyion). In others words, peace is restored. Understand, there is no mercy due to my ignorance. The Natural Law of God and its effect will continue regardless of my ignorance. In other words, the law will effect me whether I am aware or not . That is why reporations is needed. We either take on the responsibility or we push that on to our future generations through our DNA. Think about it, will the law of gravity not work for a toddler crawling on the edge of a cliff because the toddler is not aware of gravity?? No, if the toddler falls, it will die. Same goes for Natural Laws of God. When I choose ignorance and use justification for my actions, I am only soothing myself and creating excuses to strengthen my ignorance, but the Law will still affect me regardless. Most of us are trapped in this cycle of wrong action, justifications, back to wrong action and justifications and around and around we go. That is NOT natural human behavior. Nothing in nature conducts that way. It is learned behavior constructed and orchestrated by the “engineers” to control and keep us dependent on them. But “to be fully human is to be fully devine”…Fr Thomas Keating.
We are all born with a gift from God. And that gift is a conscience which allows us to acknowledge right behavior over wrong behavior. It is Gods gift to us, but it is a choice. All action (choices) come with its affects. (Cause and Affect). All my actions will affect the fabric of my life just like ripples in the pond when I cast my stone.
